DESCRIPTION:

Garmin has identified potential overheating issues when certain batteries manufactured within a limited date code range are used in certain Garmin nuvi(R) 760 models with a specific printed circuit board (PCB) design. It appears that the interaction of these factors can in rare circumstances increase the possibility of overheating which may lead to a fire.

Volvo is contacting potentially affected vehicle owners and requesting that they visit the Garmin website to identify if their unit
is affected.

SERVICE:

Volvo retailers are only required to perform the instructions in the attachment recall 231 instruction.pdf on:

- Portable Garmin nuvi(R) navigation units in retail parts stock

- Portable Garmin nuvi(R) navigation units installed in retailer stocked vehicles.

NOTE:
Customers owning retailer installed units have been instructed to go directly to the Garmin website http//www.garmin.com/nuvibatterypcbrecall. or call Garmin directly at 866-957-1981.
