This document supercedes the old one dated 2010-11-23. Changes to this document are:

- Info added in regards to MMS no longer used in production

- End chassis number added for XC90 in the header.

- SP provided to decrease MMS Sensitivity

If using a printed copy of this document, always check for the latest online version.

DESCRIPTION:
Customers may report that the MMS occasionally cause false alarms.

Due to a change at a late stage in the suppliers process, the MMS for the above vehicles no longer is used in the production of new vehicles. There is no development work ongoing to improve the MMS and no further business is planned with the supplier.

PRODUCT MODIFICATION:
The MMS has gone out of production. From MY 2012 the XC90 has been equipped with the 2nd generation of IMS (Interior motion Sensor).

SERVICE:

As a first step, for XC90, download P/N 30765194 to lower the sensitivity of the MMS.

NOTE:
The above only applies to XC90 MY 2004-2011.

If the symptom remains, replace the MMS that causes the false alarm.
