* DESCRIPTION: Reports has been received concerning alternator whine between tracks or

* during very soft parties of the music, when using the integrated IPOD SIRIUS tuner or Phatnoise. Experience has shown that the more components that are installed on MELBUS the more backround noise there will be.

* PRODUCT MODIFICATION: The decision has been taken to not sell the Phatnoise Digital

* Jukebox for installation in vehicles with Navigation systems.

* The reason is that we can not offer an interference-free installation for these vehicles.

* MATERIAL RETURN: No.

* TECHNICAL REPORT: Yes please submit a report if the symptom described above occurs.

* SERVICE: Actions to minimize the interference:

* 1. Check that no ground contact exist between vehicle chassis and IPOD control unit or SIRIUS tuner chassis

* 2. Check and adjust the SIRIUS tuner and/or the IPOD control unit MELBUS connector for a good signal ground connection (see attachment) Also make sure that there are no faults in any of the MELBUS connectors in the daisy chain.

* 3. Install service coil with P/N 31201289 inline with the ground cable (B minus) of each MELBUS component (IPOD and/or SIRIUS) to reduce the interference.

* 4. If vehicle is equipped with RT1, install the filter kit as per TJ 8642.
