DESCRIPTION:
A knocking (or clicking) noise may occur from the front of the vehicle when turning, slowly going over bumps, and/or entering an inclined surface (driveway, parking lot etc.). The noise usually occurs when the body undergoes a twisting (flexing) motion.
The noise can originate from the bumper rail contacting the front side member(s).
SERVICE:
If customer complaint is consistent with the above description, perform the following:
1. Remove the front bumper cover as instructed in VADIS.
2. Pull/pry the front bumper beam away from the side member(s) as shown.
*Note:
The only contact between the bumper rail and the side member should be at the location of the bolt. See arrows in picture.
3. Treat the surfaces with anti corrosion protection (P/N 1381063).
