Removing power seats, tilting

Special tools:
951 1522 Ground lead 951 1522 Ground Lead

Removing the power seat





Hint: Move the seat to its center position lengthways so that all the mounting points are accessible. Also move the seat to the highest position.

Remove the multi-connector. See Multi-connector Multi-Connector.

Remove:
- the side piece from the front mounting for the seat. Pull straight up
- the side piece from the rear mounting for the seat. Pull diagonally upwards and backwards
- the four screws for the seat mounting.

Hint: Angle the seat backward. Secure the seat so that it does not fall forwards. Certain operations can now be carried out.

Lift the seat from the car.

Note! Do not damage surfaces or materials when lifting the seat in and out of the car.

Note! When removing a seat from a car with side airbags, the seat must be grounded. This is due to the danger of static electricity. Use special tool 951 1522 Ground lead 951 1522 Ground Lead.

Note! Ensure that the extra ground lead clamps are secure.

Hint: Good ground terminals are the engine ground terminals, certain ground terminals in the car and good ground terminals in the work shop.

Installing the power seat
Lift the seat into the car.

Install:
- the four screws. Tighten to 48 Nm
- the side piece from the rear mounting for the seat
- the side piece from the front mounting for the seat
- the multi-connector. See Multi-connector Multi-Connector.

Note! No extra grounding is required when reinstalling the seat.
