Bumper rear, replacing
Removing rear bumper
Remove:
- Fold up the floor hatch
- the battery. See Battery, replacing Battery, Replacing
- the cover and soundproofing on the right
- the base plate. See Base plate and toolbox Base Plate and Toolbox or the subwoofer (if applicable). See Subwoofer and amplifier for the subwoofer Subwoofer and Amplifier For the Subwoofer
- the sound proofing (1) and four screws.
Use a 13 mm long socket
Note! Do not drop the nuts. They will be difficult to retrieve.
- Disconnect the connector from the antenna amplifier or remove the screw (3) and remove the bracket.
- the four clips on the underneath of the bumper
- Drill out one rivet from each side (4) where the edge of the fender meets the wheel arch fender liner. See Removing rivet .
- Slacken off one screw on each side (5), leaving each screw held in place by three threads
- Press the screw backwards so that the slide mounting releases
- Press the screw so that the screw head bottoms out.
- Pull the bumper backwards while pulling both the sides outwards so that the edges release from the slide mounting.
Hint: Two people are required for this task.
Installing the rear bumper
Install:
In reverse order.
Note! Align the lugs (6) on the bumper in the channels (7) on the bracket for the bumper.Press at the top so that the lugs secure.

Note! Replace the rivets (4) with spring nuts and screws.
Install 1 spring nut on each side.
Install 1 screw on each side. Tighten.
