Checking power supply and ground terminals

Checking power supply and ground terminals

Checking the power supply
- Check the fuse for the SRS control module in the fusebox in the passenger compartment (see the wiring diagram). Note! If a fuse is blown, check the circuit after the fuse for a short-circuit to ground. See Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault before replacing the fuse. Then replace the fuse. For further information about the circuit after the fuse, refer to the appropriate wiring diagram
- Check the power supply cable between the X-supply from the ignition switch and control module terminal #27B (55). Check for an open-circuit. See Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault
- Check the power supply cable between the 15-supply and control module terminal #28B (56). Check for an open-circuit. See Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault. Check for a short-circuit to ground. See Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.

Checking the ground terminal
- The SRS control module is grounded when it is screwed into place in the car.
Remedy as necessary

Other information
- To access and replace the SRS control module and the connector, see Control module SRS (supplemental restraint system), replacing Service and Repair
- To connect the breakout box, see Connecting the breakout box Connecting the Breakout Box, Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS)
- The voltage to terminal #27B (55) must be battery voltage when the ignition is in positions I and II
- The voltage to terminal #28B (56) must be battery voltage when the ignition is in positions I and II
- With the ignition off and the SRS control module installed, the resistance between the control module casing and the ground terminal should be approximately 0 ohms.
- For other values, see Signal specification Signal Specification, Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS).
