GENERAL: The electrical circuit for the choke coil has been modified in production. This change eliminates the choke heater control unit. The electrical wiring harness and the vacuum harness have been simplified as a result.
DESCRIPTION: One phase of alternator output is tapped at the rectifier to provide 7.2 volts at the "W" (Wye) terminal of the alternator. This terminal supplies power directly to the choke cap through the vehicle wiring harness after the engine starts and the voltage regulator cuts in. Engine manifold vacuum is no longer used to activate the system. Note that the carburetor and choke mechanism have not changed.
