Ignition Control Module: Testing and Inspection

Fig. 4 Control Module Test:

1. Connect primary leads to coil and pickup assembly to control module.
2. Disconnect high voltage wire from distributor. Do not disconnect wire from coil assembly.
3. Using a suitable high voltage holder, hold wire approximately .196 inch (5mm) from ground, crank engine and check for spark, Fig. 4.
4. If no spark appears, replace control module.
