Disassembly


1. Remove two strut assembly to knuckle attaching bolts and nuts and remove strut assembly.
2. Remove locating pin and bolt securing brake disc to hub, then remove disc and plate.
3. Remove control arm ball joint to knuckle attaching nut, then, using suitable puller, remove ball joint from knuckle.
4. Place knuckle in press and remove hub.
5. Using suitable tool, remove ring nut retaining bearing in knuckle and remove bearing.
6. Place compressor tool No. A 74241 or equivalent on strut assembly and place strut assembly in suitable vise.
7. Ensure one bolt at each end of strut assembly is in depression used to position spring on plate.
8. Tighten three bolts on compressor tool A 74241 until they contact spring check plate.
9. Crank compressor tool A 74241 until spring is compressed approximately one inch.
10. Using suitable wrench to hold shock absorber stud, remove nut holding upper mount to shock absorber.
11. Carefully loosen compressor tool A 74241 until spring is fully relaxed.
12. Remove strut from tool and separate parts.
