DTC 92-1X
DTC 92-1x (92-10 to 92-19, 92-1A to 92-1F): Open in Passenger's Airbag Cutoff Indicator1. Erase the DTC memory.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.
Does the SRS indicator stay an, and is DTC 92-1x indicated?
YES - Go to step 3.
NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures. If another DTC is indicated, go to the DTC troubleshooting index.
3. Check the connection between the dashboard wire harness A 4P connector and the passenger's airbag cutoff indicator.
4. Erase the DTC memory.
5. Check for a DTC.
Is DTC 92-1x indicated?
YES - Go to step 6.
NO - Repair the poor connections and retest. If DTC 92-1x is still present, go to step 6.
6. Check the No.1 (15A) ('03 Model) or No.7 (7.5A) ('04 Model) fuse in the driver's under-dash fusel relay box.
Is the fuse OK?
YES - Go to step 7.
NO - Replace the fuse, then turn the ignition switch ON (II). If the fuse blows again, check for a short in the No.1 (15A) ('03 Model) or No.7 (7.5A) ('04 Model) fuse circuit (dashboard wire harness A).
7. Disconnect the passenger's airbag cutoff indicator 4P connector (A).
8. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
9. Check for voltage between the No.1 terminal of the passenger's airbag cutoff indicator 4P connector and body ground. There should be battery voltage.
Is there battery voltage?
YES - Go to step 10.
NO - Open in the dashboard wire harness A or B; replace the dashboard wire harness A or B.
10. Turn the ignition switch OFF. Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for 3 minutes.
11. Disconnect SRS unit connector A (28P) from the SRS unit.
12. Reconnect the dashboard wire harness A 4P connector to the passenger's airbag cutoff indicator.
13. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
14. Connect the No.20 terminal of SRS unit connector A (28P) to body ground with a jumper wire.
15. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
16. Check the passenger's airbag cut off indicator.
Does the passenger's airbag cutoff indicator come on?
YES - Faulty SRS unit; replace the SRS unit.
NO - Go to step 17.
17. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
18. Disconnect the jumper wire.
19. Disconnect the passenger's airbag cutoff indicator 4P connector (A) again.
20. Check resistance between the No.4 terminal of the passenger's airbag cutoff indicator 4P connector and the No.20 terminal of SRS unit connector A (28 P). There should be 0-1.0 Ohm.
Is the resistance as specified?
YES - Faulty passenger's airbag cutoff indicator; replace the passenger's airbag cutoff indicator.
NO - Go to step 21.
21. Disconnect SRS main harness 28P connector C801 (A) from the SRS main subharness connector C801 (B).
22. Check resistance between the No.4 terminal of the passenger's airbag cutoff indicator 4P connector and the No.20 terminal of SRS main harness 28P connector C801. There should be 0-1.0 Ohm.
Is the resistance as specified?
YES - Open in the SRS main subharness; replace the SRS main subharness.
NO - Go to step 23.
23. Disconnect dashboard wire harness A connector C802 (A) from the SRS main harness connector C802 (B).
24. Check resistance between the No.4 terminal of the airbag cutoff indicator 4P connector and the No.6 terminal of dashboard wire harness A 6P connector C802. There should be 0-1.0 Ohm.
Is the resistance as specified?
YES - Open in the SRS main harness; replace the SRS main harness.
NO - Open in dashboard wire harness A; replace dashboard wire harness.
