DTC B1775: Microphone Input/Output Short to Power/Open1. Connect the HDS to the DLC.
2. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
3. Turn the ignition switch OFF, and then back ON (II).
4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTCB1775 indicated?
YES - Go to step 5.
NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
5. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
6. Remove the roof console and the passenger's console trim.
7. Disconnect the 20P connector from the roof console and the 22P connector from the Hands Free Link control unit.
8. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
9. Measure the voltage between Hands Free Link control unit 22P connector terminal No. 9 and body ground.
Is there battery voltage?
YES - Repair short to power in the wire between the Hands Free Link control unit and the roof console.
NO - Go to step 10.
10. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
11. Check for continuity between Hands Free Link control unit 22P connector terminal No. 9 and roof console 20P connector terminal No. 8.
Is there continuity?
YES - Go to step 12.
NO - Repair open in the wire between the Hands Free Link control unit and the roof console.
12. Disconnect connector B (14P) from the navigation unit.
13. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
14. Measure the voltage between Hands Free Link control unit 22P connector terminal No. 21 and body ground.
Is there battery voltage?
YES - Repair short to power in the wire between the Hands Free Link control unit and the navigation unit.
NO - Substitute a known-good roof console, then recheck. If the symptom goes away, replace the original roof console.
