Diagnostic Test: Navi System Link

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first.

- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.

- Confirm the correct DVD color and version disc is installed in the navigation unit Service and Repair as the wrong DVD software version can cause a hardware malfunction.

- Before troubleshooting, get the navigation system anti-theft code.

- After troubleshooting, enter the navigation system anti-theft code.

- If the interface dial and/or joystick do not work, refer to symptom troubleshooting for interface dial and/or joystick do not work.

1. Check for a blown fuse No. 14 (7.5 A) in the under-dash fuse box.

Is the fuse OK?
YES - Go to step 2.

NO - Replace the blown fuse.


2. Start the vehicle.

3. Go into the diagnostic mode, and use the Hard Key test under Unit Check. Navigation System Diagnostic Mode (With Navigation)

Do the navigation switch panel buttons operate properly?
YES - The system is OK at this time.

NO - Go to step 4.


4. Measure the voltage between navigation switch panel connector (6P) terminal No. 6 and body ground.

Is there battery voltage?
YES - Go to step 5.

NO - Repair open in the wire between navigation switch panel connector (6P) terminal No. 6 and the under-dash fuse box. If there is no open in the wire, replace the under-dash fuse box.






5. Measure the voltage between navigation switch panel connector (6P) terminal No. 4 and body ground.

Is there 0.2 V or less?
YES - Go to step 6.

NO - Repair the open in the wire between navigation switch panel connector (6P) terminal No 4 and body ground (G502).. Dashboard Wire Harness (View of Middle Section) Connector and Harness Locations






6. Check the connection of the navigation switch panel harness to the interface dial.

Is the connection secure?
YES - Substitute a known-good navigation switch panel. Service and Repair If the problem is resolved, replace the original navigation switch panel. Service and Repair If not, replace the interface dial.

NO - Repair the poor connection, and reconnect the connector.
