Crankshaft Pulley Removal and Installation
Special Tools Required
- Holder Handle 07JAB-001020A
- Crankshaft Pulley Holder 07AAB-RJAA100
- Socket, 19 mm 07JAA-001020A or equivalent
Removal
1. Remove the front wheels.
2. Remove the splash shield Front Splash Shield Replacement.
3. Remove the drive belt Service and Repair.
4. Hold the pulley with the holder handle (A) and the holder attachment (B).
5. Remove the bolt with a 19 mm socket (C) and a breaker bar, then remove the crankshaft pulley.
Installation
1. Remove any oil and clean the crankshaft pulley (A), the crankshaft (B), the bolt (C), and the washer (D). Lubricate with new engine oil as shown.
2. Install the crankshaft pulley, and tighten the bolt. Do not use an impact wrench.
1. Hold the pulley with the holder handle (A) and the holder attachment (B). Tighten the bolt to 49 Nm (5.0 kg-m, 36 lb-ft) with a torque wrench and a 19 mm socket (C). Tighten the bolt to 49 Nm (5.0 kg-m, 36 lb-ft) with a torque wrench and 19 mm socket (C). Do not use an impact wrench. If you are using a new pulley bolt or new crankshaft, tighten the bolt to 177 Nm 130 lb-ft) with a torque wrench and socket, loosen the bolt and tighten it 49 Nm (5.0 kg-m, 36 lb-ft).
2. Mark the bolt head (D) and the crankshaft pulley (E) as shown, then tighten the bolt an additional 90 ° (The mark on the bolt head lines up with the mark on the crankshaft pulley).
3. Install the drive belt Service and Repair.
4. Install the splash shield Front Splash Shield Replacement.
5. Install the front wheels.
