Power Tailgate Drive Unit Replacement

NOTE: SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations Locations, precautions and procedures Service and Repair before doing repairs or servicing.

1. Remove the quarter pillar trim Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Pillar Areas.

2. Disconnect the 2P and 8P connectors (A) from the drive unit (B).





3. Carefully remove the bolts and support strut (C) from the tailgate.

4. Remove the mounting bolts and drive unit.

5. Note the position of the alignment marks (F), then remove the nut (D) and arm unit (E) from the drive unit.

6. Install in the reverse order of removal.

NOTE: Align the marks (F) of the drive unit and arm unit to install the arm unit with the original adjustment.
