Audio-HVAC Subdisplay Unit Does Not Work Properly
Audio-HVAC subdisplay unit does not work properlyNOTE:
- Always make sure that the correct DVD color and version are installed.
- Check on-line for service bulletins or other service information for the navigation system.
- Check and repair all CAN DTCs before doing this troubleshooting.
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF, and then back ON (II), then observe if the navigation system boots-ups up with the Acura Globe Screen or the Honda Globe Screen.
Does the navigation system boot-up with the Acura Globe Screen?
YES - Go to step 2.
NO - The system displays the Honda Globe Screen. See the navigation system symptom troubleshooting index for "The Honda Globe Screen appears every time the vehicle is started".
2. Operate the audio system.
Does the audio information display properly?
YES - Go to step 3.

3. Operate the climate system.
Does the climate information display properly?
YES - Check the connections at the audio-HVAC subdisplay unit, display panel control unit, audio unit and climate control unit. Then recheck the function.
NO - Go to step 4.
4. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
5. Disconnect the display panel control unit connector B (5P) and climate control unit connector A (20P).
6. Check for continuity between display panel control unit connector B (5P) and climate control unit connector A (20P) according to the table.
Is there continuity?
YES - Go to step 7.
NO - Repair open in the wire(s) between the display panel control unit and climate control unit.
7. Check for continuity between the display panel control unit connector B (5P) and body ground according to the table.
Is there continuity?
YES - Repair short in the wire(s) between the display panel control unit and the climate control unit.
NO - Substitute a known-good display panel control unit, then reconnect all of the connectors and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original display panel control unit. If the symptom/indication is still present, replace the climate control unit.
