Navigation cannot control XM radio

NOTE:
- Always make sure that the correct DVD color and version are installed.
- Check on-line for service bulletins or other service information for the navigation system.

1. Select XM and tune to several channels.

Does the audio system operate normally (can XM be selected with the audio unit buttons and tuned with the knobs)?

YES - Go to step 2.

NO - Go to audio system troubleshooting.

2. Go into the Diagnostic mode and use the "Navi System Link" diagnosis.

Is the "XM" or "XM (HIP)" icon red?

YES - Do the navigation does not call using the HFL troubleshooting.

NO - Substitute a known-good navigation unit and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original navigation unit. If the symptom/indication is still present, replace the navigation unit.
