DTC 63

DTC 63: Millimeter Wave Radar Unit Aiming Error

1. Watch the adaptive cruise control (ACC) indicator and CMBS indicator.

Do both indicators come on?

YES - Go to step 2.

NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

2. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC 63 indicated?

YES - Go to step 3.

NO - Troubleshoot the indicated DTC(s). If there are no DTCs, the system is OK at this time.

3. Remove the upper grille.
4. Check the installation of the millimeter wave radar unit and the main bracket.

Is the installation OK?

YES - Go to step 5.

NO - Reinstall or replace the part that has a problem, then go to step 5.

5. Aim the millimeter wave radar unit procedure.
6. Test-drive the vehicle at 25 mph (40 km/h) or more, and turn the ACC switch ON.
7. With the ACC activated, test-drive the vehicle on a straight road at 25 mph (40 km/h) or more for 5 minutes or more.
8. Watch the ACC indicator and CMBS indicator.

Do both indicators come on?

YES - Go to step 9.

NO - The system is OK at this time.

9. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC 63 indicated?

YES - Check for loose or poor connections. If OK, replace the millimeter wave radar unit. After replacement, aim the millimeter wave radar unit.

NO - Troubleshoot the indicated DTC(s). If there are no DTCs, the system is OK at this time.
