Audio Remote Switch Does Not Work Properly
Audio remote switch does not work properlyNOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first.
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
1. Test the audio remote switch.
Is the audio remote switch OK?
YES - Go to step 2.
NO - Replace the audio remote switch.
2. Remove the audio-HVAC display module assembly.
NOTE: Eject all the discs before removing the audio unit to prevent damaging the CD/DVD player's load mechanism.
3. Measure the resistance between audio unit connector A (20P) terminals No. 3 and No. 11 as specified in the table.
Is the resistance OK?
YES - Go to step 4.
NO - Repair open or high resistance in the wire between the audio unit and the audio remote switch. If the wires are OK, replace the cable reel.
4. Check for continuity between body ground and audio unit connector A (20P) terminals No. 3 and No. 11 individually.
Is there continuity?
YES - Repair short to ground in the wire between the audio unit and the audio remote switch. If the wires are OK, replace the cable reel.
NO - Replace the audio unit.
