DTC U0151:

Gauge Control Module Lost Communication With SRS Unit (SRS Message)

NOTE:

- If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A.
- If the HDS does not communicate with the SRS unit, the SRS indicator stay on, go to symptom troubleshooting for SRS indicator stay on, but no DTCs are stored, or cannot be read Symptom Troubleshooting.

1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).

3. Wait for at least 6 seconds.

4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC U0151 indicated?

YES -

Go to step 5.

NO -

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections between the gauge control module and the SRS unit.�

5. Check for SRS DTCs with the HDS.

Is any DTCs indicated?

YES -

Go to the indicated SRS DTCs troubleshooting, then recheck.�

NO -

Go to step 6.

6. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

7. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure Procedures, then wait for 3 minutes.

8. Disconnect the gauge control module 32P connector.

9. Disconnect SRS unit connector A (39P).

10. Check for continuity between gauge control module 32P connector terminals No. 21 and No. 22 and SRS unit connector A (39P) terminals No. 16 and No. 17 respectively.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Substitute a known-good SRS unit SRS Unit Replacement, and recheck. If the indication goes away, replace the original SRS unit. If the DTC is still present, replace the gauge control module Service and Repair.�

NO -

Repair an open or poor connection in the wire between the SRS unit and the gauge control module.�
