DTC 2704:
XM (HIP) Diag
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first Battery Test.
- This navigation DTC sets when a problem is detected in the COMM BUS (open or short) or in the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver).
- Check any official Honda service website for more service information about the navigation system.
- Check for and resolve and CAN DTCs before troubleshoot the DTC 2704.
- Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the General Troubleshooting Information How To Troubleshoot The Navigation System.
1. Clear the hard error code.
2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode, then back to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
3. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode.
4. Check the System Links.
Is the XM (HIP) icon red?
YES -
Go to step 5.
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.�
5. Select the XM (HIP), then check the XM (HIP) System Link.
Is the Navi icon red?
YES -
Go to step 8.
NO -
Go to step 6.
6. Check the XM (HIP) System Link.
Is the HFL icon red?
YES -
Do the DTC 2705 troubleshooting 2705.�
NO -
Go to step 7.
7. Check the XM (HIP) System Link.
Is the Audio icon red?
YES -
Go to XM radio display is blank and no station information is displayed (USA models with navigation system) troubleshooting XM Radio Display Is Blank And No Station Information Is Displayed (USA Models With Navigation).�
NO -
Check the B-CAN DTCs. If any DTC is indicated, refer to the B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A, and do the AcuraLink troubleshooting.�
8. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
9. Connect the HDS to the DLC.
10. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
11. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Are any AcuraLink DTCs indicated?
YES -
Do the AcuraLink DTCs troubleshooting.�
NO -
Go to step 12.
12. Do the B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A, and check the communication with the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver).
Does the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) communicate with the HDS?
YES -
Go to step 13.
NO -
Go to AcuraLink control unit troubleshooting.�
13. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
14. Disconnect AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) and audio-navigation unit connector H (28P).
15. Check for continuity between body ground and AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) according to the table.
Is there continuity?
YES -
There is a short to body ground in the wire(s) between the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) and the audio-navigation unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.�
NO -
Go to step 16.
16. Check for continuity between the terminals of AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) according to the table.
Is there continuity between any of the terminals?
YES -
There is a short to body ground in the wire(s) between the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) and the audio-navigation unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.�
NO -
Go to step 17.
17. Check for continuity between audio-navigation unit connector H (28P) and AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) according to the table.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Replace the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) AcuraLink Control Unit (XM Receiver) Removal/Installation.�
NO -
There is an open in the wire(s) between the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) and the audio-navigation unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.�
