Front Bumper Removal/Installation
NOTE:
- Have an assistant help you when removing and installing the front bumper.
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the front bumper or the body.
- When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage.
1. Remove the front bulkhead cover Front Bulkhead Cover Replacement.
2. Remove the bolts (A, B, C), the screws (D), and the clips (E, F, G) securing the front bumper (H).
NOTE: To release the clips E, pry up on the center pin at the notch (I).
3. Release the front bumper strake (A) from the front air guide plate (B) on both sides.
4. Pull out the front bumper (A) at the wheel arch areas to release it from the hooks (B) on the side spacers (C).
5. With the help of an assistant, pull both sides of the front bumper (A) away from the side spacers (B). Then pull out the bumper to release the hooks (C) from the upper beams (D).
6. Remove the front bumper (A).
1. While holding up the bumper with the help of an assistant, disconnect the fog light connectors (B).
2. For some models: Disconnect the headlight washer tube (C).
3. Release the projection (D).
7. If necessary, release the hooks (A), then remove the front bumper absorber (B) from the front bumper beam (C).
8. Install the bumper in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Make sure each connector is plugged in properly, and if equipped, the headlight washer tube is connected properly.
- Make sure the front bumper engages the hooks (on the upper beams and the side spacers) on each side securely.
- Push the clips and the hooks into place securely.
