Navigation System Symptom Troubleshooting - No picture is displayed

No picture is displayed

Diagnostic Test: Self-Diagnosis Mode

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first Battery Test.
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Check if button has been pressed, and turned off the display (see Navigation Manual for more information).
- Make sure that the correct DVD color and version are installed.
- Inspect the navigation DVD for dirt or damage.
- Check any official Honda service website for more service information about the navigation system.
- For problems with the rearview camera, do the rearview camera image does not come on or work properly troubleshooting Symptom Troubleshooting.
- Before troubleshooting, make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the navigation system.
- After troubleshooting, enter the anti-theft codes for the audio system and the navigation system.

1. Check the No. 5 (7.5 A), No. 7 (10 A) fuse and No. 32 (10 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box.

Are the fuses OK?

YES -

Reinstall the fuses, then go to step 2.

NO -

Replace the fuse(s), and recheck.

2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

3. Do the Forced Starting of the Display Component Tests and General Diagnostics.

Is the diagnosis menu of the picture diagnosis displayed?

YES -

Go to step 12.

NO -

Go to step 4.

4. Shield the navigation display unit from the sun with your hand, and check that the display is back lit (only back light is ON.).

Can you see the back light?

YES -

Substitute a known-good navigation unit Service and Repair, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original navigation unit Service and Repair. If the symptom/indication is still present, replace the navigation display unit Service and Repair.

NO -

Go to step 5.

5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

6. Connect the HDS to the DLC.

7. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

8. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Are there any DTCs present?

YES -

Troubleshoot the DTC, then recheck.

NO -

Go to step 9.

9. Check for the hard error code.

Are there hard error codes set?

YES -

Troubleshoot the navigation DTC(s) and recheck. If there are no navigation DTCs, substitute a known-good navigation display unit Service and Repair, and recheck. If the symptom goes away, replace the original navigation display unit Service and Repair. If the symptom still does not go away, replace the navigation unit Service and Repair.

NO -

Go to step 10.

10. Measure the voltage between body ground and navigation unit connector A (8P) terminals No. 1 and No. 2 individually.





Is there battery voltage?

YES -

Go to step 11.

NO -

If the +B wire does not have voltage, repair open in the wire between the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box and the navigation unit. If the ACC wire does not have voltage, repair open in the wire between the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box and the navigation unit.

11. Measure the voltage between navigation unit connector A (8P) terminal No. 4 and body ground.





Is there less than 0.2 V?

YES -

Go to step 12.

NO -

Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between the navigation unit and body ground (G602).

12. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

13. Measure the voltage between body ground and navigation display unit 20P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2 individually.





Is there battery voltage?

YES -

Go to step 14.

NO -

If the +B wire does not have voltage, repair an open in the wire between the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box and the navigation display unit 20P connector. If the ACC wire does not have voltage, repair open in the wire between the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box and the navigation display unit 20P connector.

14. Measure the voltage between navigation display unit 20P connector terminal No. 10 and body ground.





Is there less than 0.2 V?

YES -

Substitute a known-good navigation display unit Service and Repair, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original navigation display unit Service and Repair. If the symptom/indication is still present, replace the navigation unit Service and Repair.

NO -

Repair an open or poor connections between the navigation display unit and body ground (G501).
