VSA System Symptom Troubleshooting - VSA OFF switch does not work

VSA OFF switch does not work

1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

2. Disconnect the multi switch 6P connector Testing and Inspection.

3. Check the VSA OFF switch Testing and Inspection.

Is the VSA OFF switch OK?

YES -

Go to step 4.

NO -

Replace the multi switch (with built-in VSA OFF switch) Testing and Inspection.

4. Disconnect the gauge control module connector B (28P) Service and Repair.

5. Check for continuity between gauge control module connector B (28P) terminal No. 12 and multi switch 6P connector terminal No. 4.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 6.

NO -

Repair an open in the wire between the gauge control module and the multi switch (with built-in VSA OFF switch).

6. Check for continuity between multi switch 6P connector terminal No. 4 and body ground.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Repair a short to body ground in the wire between the gauge control module and the multi switch (with built-in VSA OFF switch).

NO -

Go to step 7.

7. Check for continuity between multi switch 6P connector terminal No. 6 and body ground.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Substitute a known-good gauge control module Service and Repair, and recheck. If it is OK, replace the original gauge control module Service and Repair.

NO -

Repair an open in the wire between the multi switch (with built-in VSA OFF switch) and body ground (G501).
