Front Seat Belt

NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to tear or damage the seat covers.
- Check the front seat belts for damage Testing and Inspection, and replace them if necessary.
- If replacing the front seat belt after deployment, refer to Component Replacement/Inspection After Deployment Service and Repair for a complete list of other parts that must also be replaced.
1. Slide the front seat forward fully.
2. Carefully pry up on the bottom edge of the anchor cover (A) to release the hooks (B) and the tab (C), then remove the anchor cover by pulling it upward.
3. Remove the lower anchor bolt (A).
4. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, and wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.
5. Remove the B-pillar upper/lower trim.
6. Remove the upper anchor bolt (A).
7. Disconnect the seat belt tensioner connector (A), the seat belt tensioner reducer connector (B), and the E-pretensioner motor connector (C) (some models) from the retractor. Remove the retractor mounting bolt (D) and the retractor bolt (E), then remove the front seat belt assembly (F).
8. If necessary, remove the front seat belt protector (G).
9. Remove the bolts, then remove the shoulder anchor adjuster (A).
10. Install the seat belt in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Apply medium strength liquid thread lock to the upper anchor bolt before reinstallation.
- Tighten the bolts by hand first, then tighten to the specified torque.
- Check that the retractor locking mechanism functions.
- Assemble the washer and the bushing on the upper anchor bolt as shown.
- If the seat belt tensioner has deployed, replace the front seat belt protector with a new one.
- Before installing the anchor bolt, make sure there are no twists or kinks in the seat belt.
- Make sure each connector is plugged in properly.
- Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure.

NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to tear or damage the seat covers.
1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, and wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.
2. Remove the front seat Front Seat Removal / Installation.
3. Remove the center cover.
4. Remove the clip, then release the cloth (A) of the seat cushion cover from the connecting rod (B), then detach the harness clips (C).
5. Disconnect the seat belt buckle switch connector (A).

6. Remove the center anchor bolt (A), then remove the seat belt buckle (B).
7. Install the buckle in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Assemble the washers on the center anchor bolt as shown.
- Apply medium strength liquid thread lock to the center anchor bolt before reinstallation.
- Tighten the bolts by hand first, then tighten to the specified torque.
- Make sure the seat belt buckle switch connector is plugged in properly.
- Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure.
