HandsFreeLink System Self-Diagnostic Function

How to Check the HandsFreeLink System Condition

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first Battery Test.
- Make sure the audio system or the navigation system anti-theft code is entered.
- The self-diagnostic function can only be initiated while the HFL is in its idle state.

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

2. Press and hold the HANG-UP button (A) or the HFL BACK button (B) for more than 5 seconds.






3. The HFL system starts the self-diagnosis, the following will occurs:

- If the HFL system is OK, and there are no HFL DTCs, the HFL system says, "The HFT is OK."
- If there are any HFL DTCs stored, the HFL system says, "The HFT is NG."

The self-diagnosis ends if the HFL system returns to its idle state.

How to Check the HFL DTC's (with navigation)

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/ stop button to select the ON mode.

2. Press and hold the DEST/ROUTE, the MAP/GUIDE, and the CANCEL buttons for 3 seconds or more, and the navigation system diagnostic mode begins.






3. Using the interface dial, select the Detail Information & Setting, then press the ENTER button.






4. Select the Unit Check from the Detail Information & Setting menu, then press the ENTER button.






5. Select the HFT from the Unit Check menu, then press the ENTER button.






6. Check the GA-NET and the DESIP status in the HFT diagnosis.

NOTE: If HFL Part Number and HFL S/W Version are not shown, go to HandsFreeLink control unit Input Test Testing and Inspection.

- If OK, go to step 7.
- If GA-NET is NG, go to HandsFreeLink control unit Input Test Testing and Inspection.
- If DESIP (USA models) is NG, go to navigation DTC2705 (HFL Diag) troubleshooting USA Models.





7. Check the HFL status in the HFT diagnosis:

- If OK, the system is OK at this time, go to step 8.
- If NG and any DTC are displayed, go to indicated HandsFreeLink DTC troubleshooting.

8. To end the self-diagnostic function, select the Return, or turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
