Front Passenger's Airbag Replacement
NOTE: If replacing the front passenger's airbag after deployment, refer to Component Replacement/Inspection After Deployment Service and Repair for a complete list of other parts that must also be replaced.
Removal
1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.
2. Remove the glove box Glove Box Removal / Installation.
3. Disconnect the dashboard wire harness 4P connector (A) from the front passenger's airbag 4P connector.
4. Remove the passenger's dashboard duct (A), then detach the harness clips (B).
5. Remove the front passenger's airbag mounting nuts (A) and the bolts (B). Release the hooks of the hook plate (C), then remove it.
6. Remove the front passenger's airbag (D) from the dashboard panel.
Installation
1. Place the front passenger's airbag (A) into the dashboard panel, then install the hook plate (B).
NOTE: Make sure the hooks are set properly.
2. Tighten the front passenger's airbag mounting nuts (C) and the bolts (D) to the specified torque.
3. Install the harness clips (A), then reinstall the passenger's dashboard duct (B).
4. Connect the dashboard wire harness 4P connector (A) to the front passenger's airbag 4P connector.
5. Install the glove box Glove Box Removal / Installation.
6. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure.
7. Clear any DTCs with the HDS.
8. After installing the front passenger's airbag, confirm proper system operation: Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.
