E-Pretensioner Unit Replacement

Removal

1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.

2. Remove the front passenger's seat Front Seat Removal / Installation.

3. Remove the center console Center Console Removal / Installation.

4. Disconnect the E-pretensioner unit connectors A (5P) and B (14P) from the E-pretensioner unit (C).





5. Remove the mounting bolts (D) from the shift lever bracket, then remove the E-pretensioner unit.

Installation

1. Install the E-pretensioner unit (C) with a new mounting bolts (D).






2. Connect the E-pretensioner connectors A (5P) and B (14P) to the E-pretensioner unit.

3. Install the center console Center Console Removal / Installation.

4. Install the front passenger's seat Front Seat Removal / Installation.

5. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure.

6. Clear any DTCs with the HDS.

7. Check the operation of the E-pretensioner unit with the HDS Testing and Inspection.

8. Confirm proper SRS operation: Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode, and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.
