Driver's Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box (Driver's MICU) Removal and Installation

Special Tools Required

- Relay Puller 07AAC-000A2A1 or 07AAC-000A1A0

NOTE: SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations Locations, and precautions and procedures Service and Repair before doing repairs or servicing.

Removal

1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure.

2. Remove these items:

- Multi switch Drivers Power Tailgate Switch Test/Replacement
- Driver's dashboard undercover Driver's Dashboard Undercover Removal / Installation
- Driver's kick panel Service and Repair

3. Canada models: Remove the screws and cover (A) from the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box.





4. Remove the mounting bolt, release the tab (B), and pull the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box (C) away from the body.

5. Disconnect the connectors from the fuse side of the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box.

6. Disconnect the connectors from the back side of the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box, then remove the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box.

7. Carefully remove the relays by prying under the base of the relay Testing and Inspection.

NOTE: Do not use pliers. Pliers will damage the relays, which could cause the engine to stall or not start or cause other functions to fail.

Installation

NOTE: The driver's MICU which is part of the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box is a component of the immobilizer system. Because of this construction, the driver's MICU must be registered when the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box is replaced, or the vehicle will not start.

1. Install the relays and connect the connectors to the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box, then install the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box in the reverse order of removal.

2. Install the removed parts in the reverse order of removal.

3. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure steps 1 to 4.

4. Register the immobilizer system with the HDS:

- With keyless access system Programming and Relearning
- Without keyless access system Testing and Inspection

5. If the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box is replaced, go to step 6. If the original driver's under-dash fuse/relay box is installed, go to step 11.

6. Connect the HDS to the data link connector (DLC).

7. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

8. Select IMMOBI from the SYSTEM SELECTION MENU, then select IMMOBILIZER SETUP.

9. Select the REPLACE MPCS/MICU/IMOES, then select the suitable menu from the HDS indications.

10. After registration, confirm that the vehicle will start.

11. Confirm that all systems work properly.
