Data Link Connector: Testing and Inspection

CHECKING DATA LINK CONNECTOR

- Check for voltage supply at the black Data Link Connector (DLC) in vehicle, observe polarity while performing this check:
^ Terminal 1 goes to Battery negative (-)
^ Terminal 2 goes to Battery positive (+) (fuse 19)

- If battery voltage is not obtained, check wiring using wiring diagram, repair or replace as necessary.

- Check wiring for continuity between Engine Control Module (ECM) and the white DLC.

White DLC connector
^ Terminal 1 goes to 13 of the ECM
^ Terminal 2 goes to 55 of the ECM

- If there is no continuity, check wiring using wiring diagram, repair or replace as necessary.
