DTC 00296

DTC 00296 Kick-Down switch

- Connect test box VAG 1598 at transmission control module.

- Switch DVOM to measurement range 20 VDC and connect to sockets 41 and 1 on VAG 1598.

- Switch on ignition.

- Must be 0 volts.

- Press accelerator to the stop and hold.

- Must be battery voltage.

- If values are not reached, repair open circuit accordingly:

^ Repair, using wiring diagram
^ Replace kickdown switch
^ Adjust throttle cable
