DTC 65535

DTC 65535 - control module defective

- Check that 8-pin connector is securely connected to transmission.

Transmission Connection:

- Connect VAG 1598 using adaptor cable VAG 1598/5 to plug (arrow) on transmission wiring harness.

- Check wire routing between 8 and 55-pin connectors on transmission wiring harness.

- If no open circuit is found, replace control module. Refer to TCM Service and Repair.

Checks with DTC display:

00258 Solenoid valve 1 - N 88
00260 Solenoid valve 2 - N 89
00262 Solenoid valve 3 - N 90
00264 Solenoid valve 4 - N 91
00266 Solenoid valve 5 - N 92


- Perform output diagnosis checks. Refer to Output Diagnostic Test Mode.

- Check control signal to actuators using test box VAG 1598. Refer to Connecting VAG 1598 Pin Out Box.

- Check activation voltage of actuators. Refer to Actuator Signal Tests

- Replace transmission control module if all specified values are reached with one or more faults described above
