1) First check harness connector for corrosion and water ingress, replace if necessary.
2) Pay attention to which hydraulic control the transmission has when selecting measuring value block.

Note: For malfunction recognition of DTC 17101 / P0717:
^ Malfunction recognition includes a plausibility test: The ratio from transmission input RPM to engine RPM and transmission output RPM with drive mode selected is implausible. (Test requirement: a driving mode must clearly be selected, not -P- or -N- or between modes and gear must already be engaged).
