Kick down switch point, checking

After replacing the engine control module and after replacement of the accelerator pedal, the kick down switch in vehicles with automatic transmission must be subjected to adaptation.

- Connect vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051 or V.A.G 1551 Scan Tool and select engine electronics control module with "Address word" 01. For this purpose, ignition must be switched on.

- Press keys 0 and 4 for function "Basic Setting" and confirm entry by pressing Q key.

- Press keys 0, 6 and 3 for "display group number 63" and confirm entry with Q key.

- Observe readout in display zone 4.

Display Group 63:

- Push accelerator pedal via kick down pressure point until limit stop.
- Hold accelerator pedal for at least 2 seconds at limit stop.
