Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing And Information System VAS 5051, Connecting And Selecting Functions
Requirements
- Fuses for engine electronics OK
- Battery voltage at least 11.5 V
- Ground connections to engine and transmission OK
Work sequence
- Switch ignition off.
- Use diagnostic wire VAS 5051/1 to connect vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051.
NOTE: If fault message appears on display.
Indicated on VAS 5051:
- Touch "Vehicle self-diagnosis" key.
Indicated on VAS 5051:
NOTE: Touching "00 - Interrogating fault memory - entire system" in list -1- implements the automatic test sequence, i.e. fault memory interrogation takes place for all vehicle systems with self-diagnosis capability.
Indicated on VAS 5051:
Depending on desired function "Diagnosis functions" table:
- Switch ignition on.
or
- Start engine.
- From list -1- select vehicle system "01 - Engine electronics".
- Wait until next display appears.
