Evaluating Display Group 007
Display Group 007 - Sender For Outlet Temperature, Floor Outlet -G192-, Instrument Panel Interior Temperature Sensor -G56-, Calculated Coolant Temperature
Display Field 1 - 4:
Notes on display field 1:
A value appearing in this display may indicate that A/C Control Head -E87- was improperly coded (to models equipped with sender -G191- which are not installed in USA/CDN models).
Note on display field 2:
A/C Control Head -E87- will suppress measured values received from a malfunctioning temperature sensor and continue to control the system using an internally calculated value.
Notes on display field 3:
- Instrument panel interior temperature sensor -G56- and interior temperature sensor fan -V42 are integrated into the A/C Control Head -E87 and cannot be tested or replaced separately.
- When the convertible top is opened on Audi TT Roadsters, A/C regulation is altered. Instead of using the measured value from instrument panel interior temperature sensor -G56-, the system assumes pre-programmed outlet temperature values based on the current outside temperature. -E87- receives this information via terminal 5 in connector C from convertible top control module -J256-.
- Make sure the intake grille for -V42-/-G56- on -E8-7 is free from obstructions.
Notes on display zone 4:
- -E87- only uses the signal from the instrument cluster at coolant temperatures of + 40 degree C (104 degree F) or more.
- If no signal is received, the display will show a coolant temperature of -53 degree C (-75 degree F) and the actual coolant temperature will be calculated by -E87-.
- If the coolant temperature registered by the instrument cluster is too high, it switches its output to ground. The display then shows a value of 121 degree C (260 degree F) for the coolant temperature and the /C clutch disengaged.
