Left Side Components

Before raising the vehicle on a hoist (wheels off the ground), activate the vehicle lift mode.

=> [ Exhaust Manifold ]

=> [ Catalytic Converter with Front Muffler ]

=> [ Front Muffler ]

=> [ Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Combination Valve ]

Exhaust Manifold

Removing

- Remove the engine. Refer to => [ Engine, Removing ] Engine, Removing.

- Free up the wire for the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 2 (G108).

- Remove the catalytic converter with front muffler to exhaust manifold nuts - arrows -.





- Disconnect the electrical connector - 3 - (brown) for the Oxygen Sensor (O2S) 2 behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) (G131) and free up the wire.





- Remove the bolt - arrow - for the exhaust pipe suspended mount.





The flex joint in the front exhaust pipe must not be bent more than 10 degrees, otherwise it may be damaged.

- Remove the nut - 1 - from the bracket and remove the catalytic converter with from muffler.





- Remove the oil dipstick guide tube bolt - arrow - and tube.





- Remove the exhaust manifold bolts - arrows -.





Installing

Replace the self locking nuts.

Replace the gaskets.

Replace the sealing ring for the oil dipstick guide tube.

- Installation is performed in reverse order.

Tightening Specifications





Catalytic Converter with Front Muffler

- Remove the noise insulation fasteners - 1 through 4 - and noise insulation.





- Free up the wire for the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 2 (G108).

- Remove the catalytic converter with front muffler to exhaust manifold nuts - arrows -.





- Disconnect the electrical connector - 3 - (brown) for the Oxygen Sensor (O2S) 2 behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) (G131) and free up the wire.





- Remove the bolt - arrow - for the exhaust pipe suspended mount.





The flex joint in the front exhaust pipe must not be bent more than 10 degrees, otherwise it may be damaged.

- Remove the nut - 1 - from the bracket and remove the catalytic converter with front muffler.





Installing

- Installation is performed in reverse order.

Replace the self locking nuts.

Replace the gaskets.

- Install the exhaust system free of stress. Refer to => [ Exhaust System Installing ] Exhaust System Installing.

Tightening Specifications

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Exhaust System Assembly Overview ] Exhaust System Assembly Overview.

Front Muffler

Before raising the vehicle on a hoist (wheels off the ground), activate the vehicle lift mode.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Chain pipe cutter (VAS 6254)

- Remove the noise insulation fasteners - 2 through 4 - and noise insulation.





- Cut the left exhaust pipe using the (VAS 6254).





Dimension - a - 110 mm

The flex joint in the front exhaust pipe must not be bent more than 10 degrees, otherwise it may be damaged.

- Loosen the double clamp - 1 - and slide it toward the front.





- Remove the left exhaust pipe nut - 1 - from the bracket.





Installing

Replace the self locking nuts.

- Installation is performed in reverse order.

- Install the exhaust system free of stress. Refer to => [ Exhaust System Installing ] Exhaust System Installing.

Tightening Specifications

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Exhaust System Assembly Overview ] Exhaust System Assembly Overview.

Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Combination Valve

Removing

- Remove the engine cover - 1 - upward.





- Remove the pipe bolt - 1 -.





- Reposition the crankshaft ventilation pipe clamps - arrows - and remove the pipe.

- Disconnect the vacuum hose - arrow -.





- Remove the bolts - 1 and 2 - and remove the Secondary Air Injection (AIR) combination valve.

Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal, noting the following:

Replace the seals.

Secure all hose connections using hose clamps appropriate for the model type.
