Drive Plate, Vehicles with Automatic Transmission 01V

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Flywheel Lock Adapter (VW 558)

• Depth gauge

Removing

• Engine or transmission removed.

- Mark drive plate to engine.

- Install the Flywheel Lock Adapter (VW 558) to loosen the bolts.





- Remove drive plate.

- Remove shim from behind it.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

- Mount shim - 2 - onto the crankshaft.





- Install drive plate and washer - 1 -.

• The nub - arrow - must face the torque converter.

- Install 3 bolts minimum and tighten them to 30 Nm.





- Measure converter mounting hole using a depth gauge.

• Specified value: Dimension - a - = 18.9 to 20.5 mm.

If specification is not obtained:

- Remove driver plate and remove or add shim - 2 -.





- Repeat the measuring procedure by tightening drive plate to 30 Nm.

If specified value is achieved:

- Replace all the bolts and tighten them to the tightening specification.

Tightening specification





* Replace bolts.

* 90° corresponds to one quarter rotation.
