Adaptation

• The idling speed can be decreased or increased by using the " Adaptation" function, channel 01.

• Only perform the idling speed adaptation described in the following: in order to eliminate vibration noises or they are the cause of a customer complaint.

Procedure

- Connect vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system (VAS5051). Refer to => [ VAS 5051, Connecting and Select Functions ] VAS 5051, Connecting and Select Functions and select vehicle system "01 - Engine electronics" in selection. Engine must be running at idling speed.

- Under - 1 - select diagnostic function "10 - Adaptation".

1. Enter channel number

- Enter "01" for "Adaptation channel 011" and confirm by pressing Q button.

5 The scroll bar indicates the current adaptation value

• Adaptation value 128 is the factory-set idling speed,

• Adaptation can be performed by moving the scroll bar or by simply entering the new adaptation value.

A - Changing adaptation value using scroll bar

Display on (VAS5051):





- Move scroll bar - 5 - in desired direction or click on area next to scroll bar, which will move it in desired direction.

- Press "Save" button 4.

- Confirm new adaptation value by pressing "Accept" button 3.

- Exit function "10 - Adaptation" by pressing arrow button.

• An engine speed decrease follows immediately, an increase in engine speed is only effective after briefly pressing the accelerator pedal.

B - Adaptation by direct entry

- Press "Keypad" button 3.

1. Enter adaptation value

- Enter desired 5-digit adaptation value in zone - 2 - and confirm entry by pressing Q button.

- Confirm new adaptation value by pressing "Accept" button 3.

• Immediately following an engine speed decrease, an increase in engine speed is only effective after briefly pressing the accelerator pedal.
