Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Memory, Erasing (Function 05)
NOTE: If it is not possible to erase the DTC memory, check the DTC memory once again and repair faults.
Requirements:
- DTC memory has been checked. Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Memory, Checking (Function 02)
- All faults rectified.
After DTC memory has been successfully checked:
Display on VAS 5051:
- Select diagnosis function "05 - Erase DTC memory" from the menu -1-.
Display on VAS 5051:
1 - No display (before erasing memory)
or
- DTC memory is erased
NOTE: If display zone -1- shows the message "DTC memory is not checked", this means you have not kept exactly to the required sequence of steps. The DTC memory must first be checked before it can be erased.
2 - NOTE: Do you now want to implement this function? (Existing data will be erased.)
- Press "OK" in display -2-.
- Press the <- button to exit from the function "05 - Erase DTC memory".
- After completing repair work, check the DTC memory again.
NOTE: This has the effect of erasing any DTCs that may have been stored while carrying out repairs (e.g. as a result of unplugging connectors).
- If the DTC memory was erased the readiness code must be generated again. Generate Readiness Code
