Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing And Information System VAS 5051, Connecting And Selecting Functions

Requirements for test:

- Fuses for engine electronics OK.

- Fuel pump relay OK. Testing. Testing and Inspection
- Battery voltage not less than 12.7 V
- Ground connections on engine and transmission OK

Work sequence







- Connect up vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051 with diagnostic cable VAS 5051/1.

WARNING: Observe safety precautions.

NOTE: If an error message appears in the display: See Operating instructions for vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051







Display on VAS 5051:
- Select "Vehicle self-diagnosis".







Display on VAS 5051:

NOTE: Select "00 - Check all DTC memories" in the menu -1- to start the automatic test sequence (checking of fault memories of all vehicle systems with On Board Diagnostic capability.







Display on VAS 5051:
Depending on the function required (see table of diagnosis functions):
- Switch on ignition.
or
- Start engine.
- Select vehicle system "01 - Engine electronics" in the menu -1-.
- Wait until the next display appears







Display on VAS 5051:
1 - Control module identification of Engine Control Module (ECM)
2 - Control module identification of immobilizer










- Press the -> button.
