Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Memory, Checking (function 02)
- Connect the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051, Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System VAS 5051, Connecting and Selecting Functions , and select the vehicle system "01 - Engine electronics" from the menu. When doing this the engine should be idling.
NOTE: If the engine does not start, turn the engine over for at least 5 seconds using the starter. After doing this, do not switch off the ignition.
Display on VAS 5051:
- Select diagnosis function "02 - Check DTC memory" from the menu -1-.
Display on VAS 5051:
1 - Content of DTC memory:
- 0 faults detected
or
- X faults detected
2 - Identification of fault
- DTC
- Location/cause of fault
- Type of fault
A - If one or more faults have been detected:
- Print out screen display or self-diagnosis log.
- Press the <- button to exit from function "02 - check DTC memory".
Display on VAS 5051:
- Rectify fault(s) according to instructions in DTC table. Testing and Inspection
- Again select diagnosis function "02 - check DTC memory" from the menu and then erase DTC memory. Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Memory, Erasing (Function 05)
- Select diagnosis function "06 - End output". Ending Output
B - If no faults have been detected:
- Select diagnosis function "06 - End output". Ending Output
NOTE:
- Do not erase the DTC memory if no fault is stored, otherwise the readiness code will be reset.
- The readiness code must be re-generated if the DTC memory has been erased. Generate Readiness Code
