Digital Sound System Control Module through August 2008

The digital sound system control module (J525) is located behind the luggage compartment left side trim.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Protective cap for cable connector (VAS 6223/9)

- Switch off all electrical consumers.

- Remove the key.

- If control module is replaced, select replacement function for appropriate control module in guided fault finding routine.

Use the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051) to do so.

Removing

Vehicles with luggage compartment storage bin:

- Open left luggage compartment storage bin.

Vehicles without luggage compartment storage bin:

- Remove the left luggage compartment trim panel.

All vehicles:

- Loosen nuts - 2 - and - 4 - (5 Nm) and screw - 1 - (5 Nm) on Infotainment rack - 3 -.





- Tip rack into luggage compartment until screws - 2 - on digital sound system control module - 1 - are accessible.





- Disconnect all connectors on digital sound system control module.

- Attach the (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - onto the MOST-Bus connector - 2 -.





- Remove the screws - 2 - (4 Nm) and remove digital sound system control module - 1 - from rack - 3 -.





Installing

- Install in reverse order.
