Front Information Display Control Head Control Module through August 2008

The Front information display control head control module (J523) is located behind the glove compartment.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Protective cap for cable connector (VAS 6223/9)

- Switch off all electrical consumers.

- Remove the key.

- If control module is replaced, select replacement function for appropriate control module in guided fault finding routine.

Use the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051) to do so.

Removing

- Remove the glove compartment.

- Disconnect connectors - 2 -, - 3 - and - 4 - on the front information display control head control module - 1 -.





- Attach the (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - onto the MOST-Bus connector - 2 -.





- Remove screws - arrows - (3 Nm) and remove front information display control head control module - 1 -.





Installing

- Install in reverse order.
