Blower Motor: Service and Repair

Fresh Air Blower

• Deposits in water drain openings in area beneath the two blower fans of Fresh Air Blower (V2)) in air conditioner may cause whistling noise in recirculated-air mode. A/C units with slightly larger drain units - A - have been installed from 06.03.





Removing

- Remove left and right plenum chamber covers.

- Remove dust and pollen filter. Refer to => [ Dust and Pollen Filter ] Air Distributor Housing.

- Remove air intake housing with air flow door. Refer to => [ Air Intake Shroud with Air Flow Door ] .

- Remove the windshield wiper and cowl panel trim.

- Remove cover with recirculation door. Refer to => [ Cover with Recirculated Air Door ] Removal and Replacement.

- Remove bolts - A - and remove two air guide rings - B - left and right.





- Remove bolts - C -.

- Remove air guide - D -.

- Remove bolts - A - and remove bracket - B -.





- Disconnect connector - C - from Fresh Air Blower Control Module (J126).

- Remove the Fresh Air Blower (V2).

CAUTION!
Do not grasp fans of Fresh Air Blower. Force against fans or shifting balancing weights fastened to fans may cause imbalance and then problems during operation.

Installing

Installation is carried out in the reverse order, when doing this note the following:

- When installing, ensure wiring is routed correctly to connector - C -.

- Check the DTC memory for the Climatronic Control Module (J255) A/C control head and erase any faults displayed if necessary Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051 in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
