Selector Lever Handle and Shift Mechanism Cover Overview

• Coat the bearings and the sliding surfaces with polycarbamide grease (G 052 142 A2).





1 Guide for Cover

• Pry out both halves of retaining tabs to disconnect, refer to => [ ] Service and Repair

2 Cover

• With solenoid for Tiptronic switch (F189) on the tambour door.

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ ] Service and Repair

3 Frame with Circuit Board

• Can only be replaced as a unit

• With integrated Tiptronic switch

• With symbol illumination switches

• If switches malfunction, first check whether respective solenoid is secured correctly to the cover strip - 2 -, replace cover strip if necessary

• Check the circuit board in guided fault finding

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ ] Service and Repair

• Before replacing the circuit board for error message 18161 in the fault memory, first check the adjustment of the selector lever cable, refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, Checking and Adjusting ] Procedures
