CAUTIONS: If special testing equipment is required during road test, note the following:

CAUTION:
- Test and measuring equipment must always be secured to the rear seat and operated from there by a second person.
- If test and measuring equipment is operated from the passenger seat, the person seated there could be injured in the event of an accident involving deployment of the passenger-side airbag.


Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System VAS5051/5052, connecting and selecting functions

Requirements

- Voltage supply of vehicle is OK.
- Fuses are OK.
- Battery A is OK and sufficiently charged.







- With ignition switched off, connect Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS5051/5052 with Diagnostic Cable - 3 Meter VAS5051/5A to the 16-pin Data Link Connector (DLC) of vehicle Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
- Switch ignition on.
or
- Start engine.
- Switch A/C system on.
- Select the "Vehicle Self-Diagnosis" function e.g. on Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS5051/5052 and select the desired vehicle system Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
- The front A/C control head, Climatronic Control Module J255, via address word "08 - A/C / Heating Electronics"
- Rear A/C Control Head (Climatronic) E265 via address word "28 - Rear A/C control head" (optional equipment).
