Front Wheel Speed Sensor

Removing

- Loosen the wheel bolts.

- Raise the vehicle.

- Remove the wheel and tire.

- Unclip the speed sensor wiring from the retainer - 1 -.





- Unclip the speed sensor wiring from the retainer - 1 -.





- Disconnect the speed sensor electrical connector - 2 -.

- Unclip the speed sensor wiring from the retainer - 2 -.

- Release the grommet - 1 - in the wheel housing.





- Remove the Antilock Brake System (ABS) wheel speed sensor from the wheel bearing housing.

- Disconnect the electrical connector.

Installing

- Before installing the wheels speed sensor, install the sealing collar and coat the speed sensor all round with lubricating paste (G 000 650).

- Install the ABS wheel speed sensor.

- Clip the speed sensor wiring into the retainers and install the grommet into wheel housing.

Install the wheels and tires.

- Turn the steering completely to the left and right and check the clearance of the speed sensor wire.

Front axle rotor, checking/removing and installing

- Remove the wheel and tire.

- Remove the speed sensor from the wheel bearing housing.

- Check the rotor for contamination and damage.

• If the rotor is damaged or dirty, remove the drive axle. If damaged, replace the outer Constant Velocity (CV) joint together with rotor.

• The outer CV joint is supplied as a replacement part with the rotor.
