ATF Cooling Lines

ATF Cooling Lines

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Oil receptacle

• Protective glasses

• Rules of cleanliness for working on automatic transmissions. Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] Clean Working Conditions.

• Thoroughly clean all connections and the surrounding area before disconnecting.

Removing

- Mark all corresponding ATF cooling lines in color to prevent mix-ups.

- Place drip tray (V.A.G 1306) underneath.

CAUTION!
Wear protective glasses.

- Remove ATF cooling lines.

- Seal openings of lines with clean sealing plugs.

Installing

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

- Clean ATF lines. Refer to => [ ATF Cooling Lines and Cooler, Cleaning ] 09LA Transmission

- Replace O-ring and coat with ATF.

- Insert ATF lines by hand completely into transmission or cooler as far as stop and then tighten. Refer to => [ ATF Cooling Lines Assembly Overview, 4.2L MPI ] ATF Cooling Lines Assembly Overview, 4.2L MPI

- Check ATF level. Refer to => [ ATF, Checking Level and Correcting ] ATF, Checking Level and Correcting.
