1 Intake Manifold Lower Section

Left and right, removing and installing, refer to => [ Intake Manifold, Lower Section, with Fuel Rail ] Intake Manifold, Lower Section, With Fuel Rail

2 Sleeve

3 Fuel Pressure Sensor (G247)

20 Nm

4 Bracket

5 Bolt

9 Nm

6 High-Pressure Line


There is a risk of injury because the fuel is under very high pressure.

Before opening high pressure area of the fuel injection system, fuel pressure must be relieved to residual pressure.

Reduce the fuel pressure in the high pressure area, refer to => [ Before Opening High Pressure Fuel Injection System ] Before Opening High Pressure Fuel Injection System.

Do not change bend shape

Never bend the bracket from the fuel line.

If the bracket is bent, or if the fuel line is being replaced, then the bracket must be replaced.

Tightening

16 Seals

Replace

17 Support Ring

Make sure it is seated properly

The fuel rail wields force via the support ring to hold the fuel injector tightly in the cylinder head.

18 O-ring

Replace

Coat with clean engine oil

19 Spacer Ring

Replace if damaged

20 Combustion Chamber Seal

Replacing => [ Fuel Injectors ] Service and Repair.

21 Radial Adjustment

Replace if damaged

Clip with support ring - item 17 -

22 Fuel Injector

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fuel Injectors ] Service and Repair

High Pressure Line, Installing

- First tighten the high pressure line union nut by hand.

- Make sure the high pressure line does not have tension.

- Use the torque wrench (V.A.G 1331) with the 17 mm open end wrench socket (V.A.G 1331/2) to tighten the high pressure line on the fuel rail.





Tightening specification: union nut on the high pressure lines, 27 Nm
